It is located on the Firth of Thames close to the mouth of the Waihou River. East of Thames township is the extensively logged and regenerating native forest of the Kauaeranga Valley. Excellent for earth sciences and the history and technology of kauri milling. This painting is a diptych and is pastel on board uniquely box-framed to display both boards. Wanganui River near TaumarunuiWanganui River near TaumarunuiTaumarunui is situated on the north bank of the upper reaches of the Wanganui River at its junction with the Ongarue River in central North Island, New Zealand. It was originally a Maori settlement at the junction of important canoe routes linking the interior of the island with the lower Wanganui River settlements. Certain localities in the neighbourhood, notably the valley of the Pungapunga Stream, which joins the upper Wanganui near Manunui, were celebrated for the size and quality of totara, and large canoes were built there. It has one of the countrys warmest climates with mild winters and long hot summers. Whakatane is also the gateway to the East Cape, and the Whakatane and Motu Rivers. Arthurs PassArthurs PassArthurs Pass National Park was created in 1929 and covers approximately 100,000 hectares (250,000 acres) in the central Southern Alps of New Zealand, straddling both sides of the main divide although most of the land is on the eastern side. Arthurs Pass itself is the main crossing of the Southern Alps by road and railway, linking Canterbury and Christchurch to the West Coast. It consists of picturesque valleys and ravines, roaring waterfalls and snow capped alpine peaks. This painting is pastel on board. It measures 715 mm X 650 mm and is FOR SALE.
